Team Jamaica Bickle is proud to present the ladies of Team Bickle to compete at this year’s Gibson Relays in Kingston Jamaica. The team will consist of athletes from the US. We will send a 4x400m team as well as a 4x800m team. The athletes to compete include Claudia and Phyllis Francis, Whitney Fountain, Charlene Lipsey, Doris Anyanwu, and Dana Walsh. TJB hopes to be the trendsetter in bringing more US teams to Gibson Relays in years to come
Phyllis Francis holds a 2:04.83 800m PR which ranks as a national youth and USATF Junior Olympic record and also the fastest time in the world in 2008 for 15 year olds. She also boasts a PR 1:29.65 over 600m (a US sophomore record and second fastest time in US History for High School girls).
Claudia Francis (Phyllis’s younger sister) currently holds the second fastest time in the US over 1000m (2:50.43) and has run 2:10.76 as an 8th grader. Claudia is also an all American over 800m and 1500 meters.
Charlene Lipsey is an Indoor and Outdoor 800m all American and has run 55.75 for 400m and 2:07.46 for 800m. Lipsey has also run 129.85 for 600mwhich is the 4th fastest time for High School girls in US history.
Doris Anyanwu split 53.6 to help Eleanor Roosevelt HS win the High School Girls 4x400m Championship of America at the 2008 Penn Relay Carnival! She has run 54 seconds in the open 400m and hopes to lead TJB to victory at the Gibson Relays.
Whitney Fountain is an All American 100m (11.8) and 200m (24.0) sprinter who is capable of a 54 split on a 4x400m. Whitney also holds a PR of 20-11.25 feet in the Long Jump and is the current leader at the 2009 Colgate Women’s Games in both the 55m and 200m events.
Dana Walsh is an All American miler (5:02) and has run 2:14 800m. Dana has 2:58 100m to credit so far this year.
